We are so very proud to congratulate the 2012 winners of the Aldente Dentistry Award for Music Excellence 2012: Alicia Hutson and June Kim.
This award is awarded to the graduating student(s) at Waterdown Disctrict High School, who have, throughout their high school career, demonstrated artistic efficiency with their instrument or voice, exemplary leadership, support for school ensembles, and a passion for their musical development.
Dr. Isaacs and Dr. Schaeffer are excited to have worked with music teacher, Mr. Keith Robson, to create an award that is close to their hearts. Both of our dentists believe that music can positively influence a young person’s development, not only in the field of music, but in other academic areas, such as mathematics and language. As well, music can help our youth improve their social skills, and the discipline and commitment learned by playing in the band or singing in the choir can be a benefit in all aspects of life.
